Clore Tikva

About us

Clore Tikva is an inclusive, pluralist Jewish school in Barkingside. We aim to provide an inclusive education, celebrating and promoting understanding of our community, area, city, country and the wider world. We ensure that all children have a broad, balanced and relevant education which provides continuity and progression and considers the needs of all learners. Our curriculum is exciting and inspires children to nurture a passion for learning.

We aim to teach our pupils how to grow into positive, responsible people, who are aware of and proud of their Jewish heritage and traditions. By promoting Jewish values of community and learning we respect the school’s diverse population and create a sense of community and a commitment to helping children to grow and realise their potential. We recognise there are many different interpretations of practice and tradition not only within Judaism, but also all faiths and beliefs. We celebrate this diversity.

Judaism is at the heart of what we do and no more so than at festivals, where pupils’ experiences, through lessons and activities, create a warmth and atmosphere which is unique to our Jewish school.

Through community links we have been able to share some of these events with local non-Jewish schools, enabling their pupils to learn about our culture.

As a Jewish faith school our aim is for children to experience the joy and wonder of Jewish life while celebrating the diversity around us; our children come from a mix of backgrounds, some religious, some not, but they all unite in the shared values and traditions they find at Clore Tikva School.

We are fortunate to have a caring, committed staff, supportive parents and a skilled governing body who work in partnership to ensure the best outcomes for our pupils.

We strive to provide a secure, friendly and happy learning environment for all our children; together we encourage our children to be motivated to learn and to celebrate their achievements.

We pride ourselves on setting high expectations for all in everything we do.

Our school is focused on promoting children’s academic, physical and spiritual development, laying down good foundations for their continued progress.

We do this through teaching knowledge and understanding of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural heritages of Britain’s diverse society and of the local, national, European, Commonwealth and global dimensions of pupils’ lives. We want everyone in our school to understand and appreciate their own and different beliefs and cultures, and how these influence our communities.
